Sensing his desire to slap them with huge fines, they rushed into his estate and started just being dicks to everyone. To his horror, he could see not a single building was up to code, and also that eldritch horrors are huge assholes. Well, about 20 feet deep before they ran into a distant suburb of Carcosa. What if there was an eldritch city beneath his very manor? And what if it had grown slowly larger and larger, until it was no longer safely beyond the 15 mile International Soil border? There could be non-euclidean architecture, built within the confines of his estate, without a building permit, code electrical work, or even paying property taxes? At great personal expense, he hired a crew and dug deep under the manor. Slowly, a dreadful thought creeped over him until it consumed his every waking moment. After he beat the game, he was left a changed man. He had resolved to play Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem at some point and, really, that seemed close enough anyways. Once upon a time, there was an old man who had never read a Lovecraft story in his life.
